Who cares what we're missing, original abstract painting by Samuel Perry

structure and spontaneity, held together

Working in mixed media and raw canvas, I explore the tension between control and chaos. These singular compositions are designed to command presence through tactile grit rather than simply filling a space.

Available Works

balancing release with restraint

01 / prep the surface

Abrading the support to create a coarse, receptive base for the medium.

02 / instinctive line

Mapping emotional rhythms onto the canvas with deliberate hand-drawn marks.

My practice explores the tension between memory's structure and the moment's raw energy, creating a tactile harmony where control and chaos coexist through a focus on material depth.

03 / pigment depth

Applying expressive paint layers to build a multi-dimensional, tactile surface.

04 / define texture

Highlighting the raw canvas and physical paint to complete the material dialogue.

"pencils & pages" 2025

A quieter scale of the same argument, these works extend the language of Samuelperryart. The panels layer paint, mark, and found paper against each other, memory and material pulling in different directions until something settles. Ideal for collectors seeking original abstract paintings for sale in an intimate size, they are smaller than the canvas work but no less unresolved.
