Citrus-bright orange breaking against a charcoal storm mass — the collision this piece is named for. Made on one of the rare cool, overcast days this summer, when the heat finally broke and the light went gray and soft. The torn paper and collage fragments worked into the surface are their own kind of weather, evidence of a day that didn't go the way the rest of the season did.
