Mixed media on canvas

Something dormant, coming back. This piece sat with a rust-red mass pressing down for a long time before the teal finally broke through underneath it — color pooling low on the canvas like the first sign of a season turning. It's the closest thing in this collection to hope stated plainly: not everything that goes quiet is finished.
